Album cover design 2

After we had finished choosing the font we proceeded to add a background to the previously created band logo on a square canvas. We wanted to keep the logo quite large as we are marketing the album as the artists debut full album and would want to promote the artist and their identity.

Again this meant we chose to keep the album cover fairly simple and focus more on the logo and the title to promote the artist instead of using a more complex album cover with deeper meaning. We chose to go with a brick texture, that would be in the dark and illuminated by the text of the logo, as if the neon island logo was indeed an actual neon light on the wall.

the previously created glow would allow this effect to work well, however we also had to change the brightness and saturation of the brick texture so it wasn't as bright and normal brick colour. We wanted the blue neon colour to dominate the cover.

Below on the left shows the initial brick background, then in the middle displays once we darkened the background, and on the right we created even more of a glow effect, by creating clouds around the text with low opacity; then using their layer style to lighten the background where we used them.
